Pumpkin Pie Smoothie

vegan, gluten-free, grain-free, refined sugar-free, soy-free

Try this when you're starting to get those pumpkin cravings, but it's not quite cold enough to warrant baking a pie.
​Cheers to the last bit of smoothie weather!

Serves: 2 / Active time: 5 min / Total time: 5 min
Ingredients:
  • 1 cup almond milk
  • 1/4 cup pumpkin purée
  • 1/2-inch piece ginger root, peeled (or 1/2 tsp ground ginger)*
  • 1/2-inch piece turmeric root, peeled (or 1/4 tsp ground turmeric)*
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp ground cloves
  • 1 Tbsp flaxseeds
  • 2 Tbsp chopped pecans
  • 2 frozen ripe bananas**
To garnish (optional):
  • extra cinnamon, cloves, and chopped pecans
Directions:​
  1. Place all ingredients in the order listed in a blender or food processor and blend away!
  2. Pour into glasses, top with optional garnish, and enjoy!
*Peel and chop ginger and turmeric into 1/2-inch pieces, then store these in the freezer for easy additions to smoothies!
​**The bananas are here for sweetness and creaminess. If you don't have any ripe bananas, substitute a few pitted dates or 1 Tbsp maple syrup.
